Bark All About It!
Happy, happy, happy! I wake up every day and know it’s going to be an excellent adventure. I’ve had the chance to spend lots of time at The Local Bark with my new buds and even gotten to go home with some of the trainers to meet their families. I thought going home with them would be VACATION (woohoo!) but while they’re super sweet, they’re pretty serious about making sure I toe the line and tidy up my manners.
I’m currently at home with Kaitlin-- and a special shout out to Juni, a really cool terrier. Thanks for sharing your home, Juni! We went for a 3 mile walk with us huffing and puffing the whole way. After that—practice, practice, practice. I had to hold a down/stay while everyone else in the house (including the cat, who I’m quite interested in) moves around. Torture, right! I just want to cling to Kaitlin and follow her around but all in all, I can tell I’m doing pretty well.
They tell me I’m coming right along with my training, and I’m much better about holding a command instead of popping up and being on my way. At The Local Bark, they’ve been focusing a TON on sending me to my place, since they know that will help with my personal space issues…I don’t see it as an issue because I just want to be close to everyone. But apparently a good house dog knows when to chill. I’ll get it. I know I will.
Exercise. Phew! I’m walking the treadmill every day and am a superstar on a leash. This whole ‘trimming down’ thing is not much fun but I’m feeling better and pretty sure I’ve lost a few lbs.
What I keep showing off to everyone is that I’m such a total lover. I LOVE to play with the other dogs, LOVE to get affection from any and every one, and LOVE my food.
It’s getting close to Thanksgiving and I am soooo excited for the holidays! Because after Thanksgiving means…December and Christmas and what I dream about every night—waking up in my forever home. That will make me unbelievably happy, happy, happy.
Today and everyday-
Thankful for second chances…
